Exotic. Texture. Colors. Light. Offbeat. Wild. Infusion. Romantic
These words clearly explain the look of this beautiful Bohemian Indian Summer Garden shoot that Julie styled hair for this past Summer at Tukahoe Plantation in Richmond, VA. This shoot was beautifully executed by the talented minds of Photographer Sally of Reverie Supply and Co. and Amanda Burns of Into It Events. This shoot was just published on UK blog Glamour and Grace and you can see the feature HERE.

Now for some behind the scene words from Julie Flury:
This shoot was so exciting to be a part of! It was a hike to get to the shoot location for all the vendors, but we all knew it would be SO worth it! Knowing ahead of time that the shoot was going to be bohemian themed was helpful in dreaming up the “hair theme”. A little secret that I don’t tell many people is that I never actually have a plan as I go into shoots, I totally WING it and the hair styles always turn out better that way. Without expectations, I am able to go above boundaries that I may have previously set for myself and fully use my creative, artistic juices to come up with extraordinary and unique looks. Shoots are my time to shine, to get out of the norm flow, and to create a NEW hair style that people will find to be exciting and different.
As you look at these gorgeous photos you would have NO idea that it was hot, humid, and that there was was no AC during this shoot…
Hair and make up was styled while we were all sticky and sweaty, it wasnt glam, but we were all determined to make it GLAM! The hair wouldn’t hold curl or texture really well. I was getting a little frustrated until I realized in order to emphasize the “boho” look, this heat and humidity was actually a GOD SEND…. Half glass full folks!! I imagined a bohemian bride getting married in the dessert. The whole reason her hair would be whispy and light would be because all they could do is just tousle the hair up, twist, add braids and intertwine the hair, so that is exactly what I did…… tease, comb, spray, twist, pin, weave, roll…..repeat!
